Cavan Chamber of Commerce have launched their new initiative in recent weeks, a Retail & Night Life Map of Cavan Town. “The double-sided map serves as a guide to both visitors and residents of our town and county of the fantastic retail, food and night life experiences that Cavan town has to offer. We have listed over 120 businesses on the map who are members of Cavan Chamber. The map also includes landmarks such as the Abbey, the Library, the Cathedral etc as well as the several public car parks around the town” states Eugene Greenan, President of Cavan Chamber of Commerce.
According to Failte Ireland, Cavan had 107,000 overseas visitors in 2017 who spent €48m in the local economy. “Our aim of this initiative is to educate and make it easier for visitors to our town and county of what Cavan has to offer and where to find it. With the growing trend of staycations in the several fantastic hotels that Cavan town and County have to offer, I believe that this simple initiative could greatly enhance the footfall in to Cavan town in the future” claims Mr. Greenan.
The Cavan Chamber Retail & Night Life Map is already available in key locations. “Each of the four hotels in Cavan town currently have the maps in their lobbies as well as the tourist office in Cavan County Council. We are also receiving requests from some retailers who wish to have the maps available in their stores which we will accommodate in the coming weeks. The map has also been published on our new website.” Mr. Greenan clarified.
The map will be an evolving document that will be republished every 4 months to allow for updates including new businesses who wish to take part in the initiative. “We believe that the businesses who are not on this map are missing out on a big opportunity and we are therefore willing to allow businesses to join the initiative on a quarterly basis” Mr. Greenan expressed. Interested businesses should contact the Cavan Chamber of Commerce office.
